What is Invisalign®?

The Invisalign® series is a set of plastic aligners that readjust the position of teeth. Made of clear plastic, Invisalign® is essentially invisible, allowing you to gain effective, yet discreet, orthodontic treatment. Some of the other advantages Invisalign® presents our patients include:

  • Non-invasive treatment
  • No wires and brackets associated with traditional braces
  • Avoids scratches and cuts along cheeks and gums
  • Removable aligners mean no food restrictions

As a trained Invisalign® provider, we offer our patients both Invisalign®’s Adult series and Teen series. Schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Monica Crooks, DDS today and achieve a more beautiful smile!

How it Works

Treatment is simple. Dr. Crooks will inspect and take an impression of your teeth to assess if you are a good candidate for Invisalign®. Once you are approved, we will fashion a personal set of clear aligners for you to wear at least 20 to 22 hours each day. The clear aligners are then replaced every two weeks until the completion of treatment.

Generally, the Invisalign® series can be used to correct the following problems:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Gaps in between teeth
  • Cross bites
  • Overbites
  • Other alignment issues

Invisalign Is A Much Better Option Than Braces!

Get Started.  We will will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which Invisalign will use to create a digital 3-D image of them. From these images we will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth, and tell you the approximate length of treatment. Using the same technology we are able to show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment. While every case is unique to each patient, treatment typically takes approximately a year for adults. For teens the length of treatments is comparable to that of braces.

Wear A New Aligner Every Two Weeks. Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. To monitor your progress, you will also have occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so. For best results and a timely outcome, you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, throughout your entire treatment. At every stage, you will be able to see how much closer you are to having the smile that reflects the real you.
