Low-Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) is an effective treatment for recurring herpes simplex infections. LLLT(Low-Level Laser Light Therapy) has been used mainly for the acceleration of wound healing and for pain therapy. one of the greatest benefits of LLLT is it’s painless. It may also help with aching canker sores and herpes zoster infections. Recent studies have shown that LLLT can help canker sores and herpes to subside within a day or two.
LOW-LEVEL LASER LIGHT THERAPY
Many people think that cold sores are a relatively minor issue unless you have cold sores. For those that do, you know that an outbreak can be more than uncomfortable. It can be crippling.
The good news is, we can effectively treat them. Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1), which is the oral form of the virus.
It is not well known, that clinical studies suggest 67% of the world population under age 50 has HSV-1.
Canker sores also called aphthous ulcers, are small, shallow lesions that develop on the soft tissues in your mouth or at the base of your gums. There are more than 3 million cases per year in the US alone.
Thankfully, it has been proven through clinical studies that low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a highly effective treatment that can both shorten healing time (by roughly half) and immediately reduce pain.
